1. Halls of Residence -

and meals three times a day. This costs NZD 110-370 per week and is a great way

Do NZ institutions require any
additional exams?
Universities in New Zealand expect their
students to possess fluency in English. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
is the most preferred English language proficiency test accepted by almost all
institutions in New Zealand. However, globally, Kiwi institutions are open to
accepting other proficiency tests such as the Test of English as a Foreign language (TOEFL)
and Pearson Test of English (PTE).
What documents do I need to attach?
To apply for a course at an NZ University, you need to send: Resume, Statement of Purpose, Mark sheets, and Certificates along with relevant degree transcripts in specific cases. Certificates of extracurricular activities and passport copy, birth certificate, and 2 reference letters from colleges and employers.
How do I apply for a student visa?
You need a student visa for New
Zealand if you want to study for more than three months. The application
process will be cheaper, faster, and easier when applied online. Students
should apply 4 weeks before commencement of the course and must include certain
information. The student needs to have a valid unconditional letter of
admission from an NZQA accredited Institution and provide support of required
finances that would be needed towards tuition fees and living &
accommodation costs for the duration of stay in New Zealand.

Am I eligible to work during term time?
International students holding a student
visa are eligible to work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year.
Students can work full time (40 hrs) during the summer holidays. The average
wage for part-time jobs is between NZ$12 - NZ$15 per hour.
What are my future prospects post the completion of my program?
Once you complete your course in New
Zealand, you can apply for a 12-month job-search visa to look for a job with
ease. On gaining a job offer within the period of job search, students can
either apply for a 2 year's Work Permit or Permanent Residency depending on
their eligibility for SMC.
